Sonos Move 2 - The Wayfarer
Sonos · $$$
The room should follow you. That is the idea behind the Move 2: the same speaker that holds a kitchen at dusk comes along to the deck, the campsite, the cabin, and the part of the garden where the WiFi gives up. Sonos gave it 24 hours of playback on a charge, more than twice the run of the first Move, and an IP56 build that shrugs off splashes, rain, and a summer of dust. Drop it on the charging base when you get home and the music is simply there again. The microphones listen to the room through automatic Trueplay and retune the sound as the walls change, indoors or out. Stereo pair two and the warmth spreads wider. A handle carries it, Bluetooth carries the stream when WiFi cannot. It is a portable speaker, yes. Mostly it is proof that a hearth does not have to stay indoors.
Why it is god-tier
- Up to 24 hours of playback per charge, more than twice the previous generation, from efficiency gains across the acoustic design rather than a bigger battery alone.
- IP56 water resistance on a drop-resistant shell with a built-in handle, built to weather spills, splashes, rain, dirt, humidity, and sun.
- Automatic Trueplay tuning: the microphone array samples the acoustics of wherever the speaker lands and continually optimizes the sound, no manual setup.
